Terror Attack in Chilas Leaves Two Scouts Dead, One Critical
Chilas – A tragic incident unfolded in the Hudur area of Chilas when unidentified terrorists opened fire on a local check post, leaving three scouts seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Chilas Hospital, where two, identified as Naib Subedar Khushdad from Nagar and Havaldar Ashraf from Shigar, succumbed to their injuries. The third scout remains in critical condition.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack, calling it a heinous act by Khawarij terrorists. Expressing his condolences, he paid tribute to the martyred personnel and prayed for the recovery of the surviving scout.
“We salute the sacrifice of the martyred Subedar, who has attained the highest honor of martyrdom,” Naqvi said, emphasizing that such sacrifices will not go in vain.
The spokesperson of the Gilgit-Baltistan government, Faizullah Faraq, confirmed that a counter-terror operation has been launched in Diamer in response to the attack.
Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan has taken notice of the incident and directed officials to submit a detailed report within 48 hours. He also condemned the attack as a cowardly act and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
