Colin Farrell on Alexanders Most Dangerous Scene

Colin Farrell Recalls ‘Most Dangerous’ Scene of His Career in Oliver Stone’s ‘Alexander’

In a recent interview, Colin Farrell, 49, opened up about what he calls the “hardest sequence” of his acting career — the epic battle scenes in Oliver Stone’s 2004 historical drama Alexander, where Farrell played the legendary Macedonian king.

“The hardest sequence I’ve ever been a part of was the battle scene we shot for Alexander in the desert of Morocco. That was the most dangerous thing I’ve ever done,” Farrell revealed.

He described the grueling shoot for the Battle of Gaugamela, which lasted four weeks. “Every day we’d come in, they’d call ‘action,’ and there were eight elephants, 200 horses, and 800 men moving all at once. It was chaos, but in a controlled way,” he said.

Farrell also shared the risks involved. “One guy broke his leg on horseback. That was it. Nobody died. It was a miracle. They wouldn’t do something like that now,” he added.

Alexander, co-written and directed by Stone and inspired by Robin Lane Fox’s book Alexander the Great, also starred Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto, Val Kilmer, and Anthony Hopkins. The film received mixed reviews and struggled at the box office.
