The 33-year-old all-rounder, who last played for New Zealand in 2018 before moving to the USA in 2020, made his debut for his adopted country last month against Canada.
Corey Anderson became eligible to represent the USA in international cricket last year.
He played 13 Tests, 49 ODIs, and 31 T20Is for New Zealand since making his debut in 2013, scoring over 2000 runs and taking 90 wickets across formats.
He was also part of New Zealand’s squad in the ICC World Cup 2015, where they reached the final for the first time, but lost to co-hosts Australia.
Wicket-keeper batsman Monank Patel will continue to lead the side, which features paceman Ali Khan, off-spinner Milind Kumar, Aaron Jones, and Andries Gous.
The associate nation’s highest-ever run-getter Steven Taylor and most capped player Saurabh Netravalkar also cut the 15-member squad.
The squad saw two changes to that took on Canada in the five-match home series as wicketkeeper batter Shayan Jahangir replaced middle-order batsman Gajanand Singh while pacer Ali Khan came in place of Usman Rafiq.
The mega event will be co-hosted by the West Indies and USA and will run from June 1 to 29.
The USA will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against neighbors Canada in the curtain-raiser on June 1 before taking on Pakistan, India, and Ireland respectively.
