As the Pakistan cricket team continues to work hard at the fitness camp in Kakul, General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), will host the players for an iftar on April 7 in Rawalpindi.
At the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Abbottabad, the Men in Green are presently a part of a fitness camp where they get training and exercise.
According to reports, the fitness camp will now end one day early on April 7, with the players traveling directly to Pindi for Iftar with the army leader during the current holy month of Ramadan. Originally, the program was scheduled to end on April 8.
They will return home in time for Eid-ul-Fitr after the iftar.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Haseebullah, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Irfan Khan Niazi, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mehran Mumtaz, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Ali, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Amir.
Noteworthy is the fact that New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on April 14 ahead of the much awaited five-match Twenty20 International series.
On April 18, 20, and 21, the two teams will play three Twenty20 Internationals in Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium. After that, the two teams will travel to Lahore, where they will play the series’ last two Twenty20 Internationals on April 25 and 27, respectively.
The T20I series’ five matches will all begin at 7:00 p.m. (PST).
While on tour in Pakistan, Michael Bracewell will serve as New Zealand’s captain.
Due to Indian Premier League obligations, Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitch Santner, and Kane Williamson will not be playing in the series.
Additionally not eligible for selection was Colin Munro, and Tim Southee has been rested.
Will Young and Tom Latham, who is expecting his second child, were also not available for selection because of their contracts with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.
Tim Robinson of Wellington and Will O’Rourke of Canterbury have been selected for the first time in the T20I team for New Zealand.
The Pakistani team will be revealed in a day or two.
