PCB will choose the PSL 9's top performers for a training camp

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said on Friday that the players who excelled in the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League will be included in the training and fitness camp.

Prior to the New Zealand trip, Naqvi chaired a meeting of board officials at the PCB headquarters in Lahore when names of Pakistani cricket players were discussed. The meeting was attended by the director of international cricket, Wahab Riaz, the chief selector, Salman Naseer, the PCB chief operating officer, and other officials.

Prior to the June commencement of the ICC T20 World Cup, a squad from New Zealand will be visiting Pakistan in April for a five-match Twenty20 International series, which will begin on April 18.

The head of the PCB gave the order to choose players based on their performances and merit. Even his own proposal, according to Naqvi, shouldn’t be taken into consideration when choosing the guys for the camp.

He stated, “The players selected based on merit and performance have the ability to produce good results,” during the meeting when the players chosen for the training camp were examined.

A report detailing the bowlers and hitters who excelled in the just finished league season was turned in by the head selector.

Muhammad Irfan Khan was named ‘Emerging Player of the Tournament,’ Saim Ayub ‘All-Rounder of the Tournament,’ Muhammad Irfan Khan ‘Fielder of the Tournament,’ Azam Khan ‘Wicketkeeper of the Tournament,’ Usama Mir ‘Bowler of the Tournament,’ Usman Khan ‘Batter of the Tournament,’ and Shadab Khan ‘Player of the Tournament’ after Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans on March 18 to win the PSL season.

While Babar Azam of the Peshawar Zalmi was recognized for his consistency throughout the league, Shadab was also commended for his mastery in the role of captain.
