CTD Kills Two Militants in Karachi Intelligence-Based Operation
KARACHI – The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, conducted an intelligence-based operation near Mochko on Hub River Road, killing two militants in a fierce gun battle.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched after credible intelligence reports confirmed the presence of terrorists in the area. During the raid, an intense exchange of fire took place, resulting in the deaths of two armed militants on the spot.
Security forces recovered a suicide vest, a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol, and explosive materials from the possession of the militants. A Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately dispatched to safely defuse the recovered suicide vest.
The CTD spokesperson further revealed that the militants were affiliated with the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij, a group linked to multiple terror-related activities across the region.
This latest action comes amid continued efforts by CTD to dismantle terror networks operating in Sindh. In a similar operation earlier in April, CTD arrested Syed Muhammad Moosa Rizvi, also known as Kamran, who was allegedly associated with the proscribed Zainabiyun Brigade. Rizvi was apprehended from Karachi’s Soldier Bazar area during a targeted raid and had been in hiding to evade arrest.
The CTD reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying counter-terrorism efforts across the province to ensure public safety and eliminate all forms of extremism.
