Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud was injured when unknown assailants fired at a convoy he was traveling in near Bagan.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that owing to security concerns the convoy carrying supplies for Kurram has been stopped.
Commissioner and DIG Police Kohat division have been present on the spot.
The injured deputy commissioner has been transferred to Alizai Hospital, and he has been out of danger, KP official said.
He said arrangements were being made to transfer the injured DC to Peshawar.
The first convoy carrying supplies for the strife-torn Kurram district was scheduled to depart on Saturday, the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier announced.
The convoy, transporting food and other essential goods for the Kurram region, which is facing a shortage of edibles and other essential items owing to the precarious law and order situation in the region.
