Rain-Related Accidents Across Punjab
A 5-year-old girl named Dua Fatima died when the roof of her house fell in Basti Riazabad, Okara, according to Rescue 1122. Two other family members were also injured in the same accident. In another incident in the same district, a man was hurt after being struck by lightning.
In Depalpur, two people were injured when a roof collapsed. In Sheikh Basti, a young girl was hurt by falling debris. A man drowned in a seasonal stream in Sohawa. One person died and another was hurt due to lightning in Kot Barkat Ali, Khanewal.
One person also died in Bahawalnagar due to a roof collapse. More roof collapse accidents happened in Faisalabad, Jaranwala, Sahiwal, and Chiniot, causing several injuries.
In Malakwal (Mandi Bahauddin), two children got electric shocks and were injured. In Murree, five people were hurt when a van and a tanker crashed during rain.
Rescue teams have asked people to stay indoors during bad weather and to report any damage to buildings immediately.
Rain Brings Relief to Lahore
In Lahore, the weather became cooler and more pleasant after rain and strong winds.
Due to the rain, the temperature dropped, giving people some relief from the heat.
Lahore Commissioner Zaid Bin Maqsood told local officials to stay alert and respond quickly to any emergencies. All deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, and municipal workers were told to stay ready for action.
