In Washuk, Balochistan, a bus accident takes at least 28 lives

In the Washuk district of Balochistan, a bus fell and landed in a ravine on Wednesday, killing at least 28 people—including women and children, according to Express News.

An accident happened when a passenger bus from Turbat to Quetta went off the road. According to rescue officials, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a burst tyre, which resulted in the collision.

The accident also resulted in numerous injuries to passengers. Rescue crews arrived quickly and took the victims to Basima Civil Hospital.

Critically injured patients are being sent to Quetta to receive additional care.

More than 20 people were hurt in the accident, according to officials, several of them are in serious condition. This raises concerns that the number of fatalities may increase.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, has conveyed his sincere sadness over the occurrence.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the prime minister offered his sincere condolences to the bereaved families and offered prayers for the victims.

“We stand with the mourning families in this difficult time and express our heartfelt sympathy,” the premier added.

In addition, the prime minister stressed the importance of providing the injured with immediate medical attention and gave orders to offer all required medical support to ensure their recovery.

On May 3 of this month, a different passenger bus encountered a deadly collision on the Karakoram Highway in the Diamer area of Gilgit-Baltistan, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 individuals and the injuries of another 21.

The bus went off the road, flipped over, and stopped near the Indus River’s banks around 5:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, a passenger bus that had toppled close to Kalar Kahar on April 14 claimed the lives of two individuals and injured forty-five more.
