Dionne Harmon Thanks Kim for Saving Her Life

Producer Dionne Harmon Credits Kim Kardashian for Saving Her Life After Early Lung Cancer Detection

In a heartfelt revelation, producer Dionne Harmon opened up about how a social media post by Kim Kardashian may have saved her life. Harmon, who was in good health at the time, noticed a post from Kardashian promoting Prenuvo, a company offering radiation-free, whole-body MRI scans.

“I think she posted a selfie in scrubs in front of the machine,” Harmon recalled. “People criticized her for it, saying it was tone-deaf because not everyone can afford these scans. I thought, ‘What the hell is Prenuvo?’ and looked it up immediately.”

Harmon decided to book scans for herself and her fiancé, Jesse Collins, co-founder of the Emmy-winning production company JCE. “There was a three- to four-month wait, but we work hard and don’t always take care of ourselves. Sadly, several friends have died of heart attacks. Jesse started his own company after his boss passed away from a heart attack, so it’s always been on our minds,” she said.

When they finally got their scans in March 2024, Collins was found to be in perfect health, with only minor posture issues. But Harmon’s results were shocking.

“‘There appears to be a pretty large mass in your right lung, and you need to call a pulmonologist as soon as possible,’” she recalled being told. “I was stunned. I didn’t even know what a pulmonologist was.”

After a chest X-ray and a PET/CT scan, Harmon underwent a biopsy and was ultimately diagnosed with lung cancer by USC’s Dr. Graeme Rosenberg. Doctors told her that a six-month delay in diagnosis could have been fatal.

Harmon expressed gratitude to Kardashian for unintentionally prompting her scan. “Somebody tried to tear you down, but it actually ended up saving my life, so thank you for posting,” she said.

Instead of undergoing radiation or chemotherapy, Harmon opted for targeted drug therapy tailored to her tumor’s specific mutation. “I take a pill a day for three years and get lung scans every six months. So far, everything has been clear,” she shared.
