The Italian goalkeeper, who was not in the match-day squad, walked onto the Parc des Princes pitch in casual attire to wave goodbye to the fans. The 26-year-old, once tipped to join Manchester United, is now expected to sign with Manchester City in the final days of the transfer window.
In a poignant moment, Donnarumma’s teammates Achraf Hakimi and Fabian Ruiz nudged him towards the penalty area in front of PSG’s ultras, where he received a heartfelt ovation.
