The debate about whether or not the Parizaad sequel will materialize has reached a fever pitch, but fans now have a reason to rejoice: it has been confirmed that season two of the show will premiere early in 2019.
Famous actor Ahmed Ali Akbar played the title role in the film Parizaad, which was based on the same-named novel and told the story of a college student attempting to fulfill his dreams. The drama debuted in July 2021 and ran for four months, ending with the last episode in theaters on January 28, 2022, followed by a television broadcast on February 1 of the same year. Both reviewers and viewers praised the show for departing from the stereotypical weeping women who are frequently portrayed in Pakistani plays.
Duraid Qureshi, the CEO of Hum Network, stated, “It’s going to be a beautiful story,” when he confirmed that the second season of the show would air the following year. Qureshi went on, “Our philosophy is that the content should be good and it should be complete,” citing the reasons why people were drawn to Parizaad. Studying the show will reveal that it was incredibly successful since not a single episode or act felt forced.
Following Akbar’s statement in an interview last week, whereby he alluded to the show’s return, comes Qureshi’s declaration. Akbar said of his role in the drama, “Parizaad was so deeply interwoven into who I am, I wanted to shed some of [it] before I could talk to people,” before going on to star in the feature film Gunjal. The year-long filming involved you becoming the character and the character becoming a part of you. When the drama premieres on screens next year, fans may anticipate fantastic things from Qureshi’s promise of a lovely plot that doesn’t drag.
