Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled a brand-new program named “Zero Bureaucracy” with the goal of improving the effectiveness of administrative procedures linked to work and residency in Dubai. This program was introduced along with the introduction of the “Employment Package.”
In the past, hiring a new employee in Dubai needed 30 days and the submission of sixteen separate paperwork. Nonetheless, the procedure has been greatly expedited with the new guidelines. With just five papers needed, it now only takes five days to finish.
A variety of services pertaining to employment and residence procedures are provided by the Employment Package, such as the issuance of work and residency permits to new hires, the renewal of residency permits, the administration of medical fitness exams for resident visas, and the cancellation of work permits. While the majority of these services will be available online, some will still need in-person visits, such as fingerprint scanning and medical exams.
This program is a component of the larger Invest in Dubai platform, which seeks to offer effective services to the many businesses—roughly 275,000 in total—that operate in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed underlined that the simplified procedures will save a substantial amount of money for the public and commercial sectors in addition to saving time.
By doing away with the requirement for prospective hires to visit several departments independently, this effort seeks to streamline the hiring process. Rather, a more centralized and effective approach is made possible by the cooperation of multiple government agencies, such as Dubai Health, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, Dubai Economy and Tourism, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA).
With the debut of this new platform, the GDRFA-Dubai expects a 25% increase in service transactions, suggesting a strong response and acceptance from both people and enterprises. All things considered, this program is a big step toward making conducting business easier and drawing talent to Dubai’s thriving economy.
