ECNEC Okays 28 Projects for Growth Jobs Connectivity

ECNEC Approves 28 Major Projects to Boost Economy, Improve Services

ISLAMABAD – The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) met in Islamabad today, bringing together federal ministers, provincial planning officials, top bureaucrats, and representatives from Gilgit-Baltistan and the National Highway Authority.

Chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the meeting reviewed and approved 28 large-scale development projects covering key sectors, including energy, education, health, environment, infrastructure, and public administration.

According to the official statement, the initiatives are part of a broader plan to drive sustainable economic growth. Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the economy through stronger institutional frameworks and more efficient public service delivery.

Among the notable projects are upgrades to the energy infrastructure to meet growing demand, improvements in educational facilities and digital learning platforms, and health sector reforms focused on modernizing hospitals. The plan also includes programs to promote environmental sustainability and develop strategic infrastructure in underserved regions.

Dar said these projects would not only support economic recovery but also create jobs, improve public services, and strengthen regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the federal government is taking all possible measures to accelerate economic growth in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and improve the lives of residents. He made the remarks during a meeting with tribal leaders from the merged districts, led by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, at the Prime Minister’s House.
