Ed Sheeran Clarifies: “We’re Not Moving, Just Touring with the Family in the U.S.”

Singer Ed Sheeran, 34, recently made headlines when he hinted that he was relocating to the United States with his wife and children. However, the ‘Shape of You’ star has now set the record straight, confirming that the family’s move is temporary and tied to his U.S. tour.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Sheeran wrote, “Way easier to clear up stuff on here, so here’s me setting the record straight.” He added, “I’m not moving. I’m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I’m touring on. Don’t wanna commute from London to San Diego, obvz.”

The singer also addressed speculation about taxes, clarifying that this isn’t a “tax thing.” He affirmed that he will continue to pay taxes in the U.K., where he officially resides.

The clarification comes shortly after reports emerged that Sheeran, along with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3, would be leaving their £3.75 million Suffolk home, Sheeranville, to temporarily settle in the U.S.

During a recent podcast, Sheeran explained his plans: “I’m going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can’t dip in and out. We’re going and settling there.”

Fans can rest easy: the move is all about convenience during tour dates, not a permanent relocation.
