An arrest warrant for Gandapur was issued in 2021 for breaking AJK election regulations

Ali Amin Gandapur, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has an arrest warrant out for him by the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Election Commission due to an alleged infraction of the code of conduct during the 2021 elections.

Imran Khan’s candidate for the position of chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gandapur, was arrested. The electoral body has sent a letter about this to the deputy commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan.

The letter instructs the PTI politician, who was a federal minister at the time, to attend on February 28 before the AJK Election Commission. Attorney Raja Zulqarnain filed the petition against Gandapur in the 2021 election.

It was forbidden for the fiery PTI leader to attend or speak at any rallies during election-related events in AJK.

The action was conducted when the commission learned that, in addition to proposing development packages valued at billions of rupees, Gandapur had made offensive remarks in his addresses at various public events in AJK.

The AJK Election Commission claims that in addition to causing issues with law and order, the minister’s actions also raised concerns about potential human casualties.

Ali Amin Gandapur prevailed in the general elections held on February 8 in NA-44, Dera Ismail Khan-I, and PK-113.

Gandapur was Imran Khan’s party’s nominee for chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 13. With 84 seats, the PTI easily won KP in the elections.

The former prime minister told reporters in Adiala jail, where he is being held in many crimes, that “Ali Amin Gandapur will be KP’s chief minister.”
