Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today, he said the caretaker government has been consistent from day one that elections would be held on the date given by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He said more than ample resources have been provided to ensure a free and fair election on Thursday.
The Information Minster said the government has made foolproof security arrangements on polling day for the voters at the polling stations.
He said the main responsibility of providing security would rest with the police as the first tier, while the Civil Armed Forces would be there to assist as the second tier and the Armed Forces of Pakistan would assist as the Quick Reaction Force in the third tier.
Formally inaugurating the tree planting campaign in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) he said it was the duty of all human beings to keep the environment green. “Along with planting trees and saplings, steps are also necessary to protect them,” Murtaza Solangi remarked.
The cooperation of the AIMS Education System and Private Schools Association in the plantation drive was a commendable initiative, he added.
It should be noted that the saplings for the plantation campaign had been gifted to the Ministry of Information by the Private Schools Association, which will be planted in various offices of the Ministry of Information including the PTV headquarters.
