Charlie Hunnam, best known for playing Jax Teller in the popular television series “Sons of Anarchy,” will play a master thief named Leo in the critically acclaimed graphic novel series “Criminal,” which will be available on Amazon Prime Video.
Described as a “interlocking universe of crime stories,” the show centers on Leo’s development into a cunning heist planner who stays away from violence.
Hunnam joins Adria Arjona, Richard Jenkins, and Kadeem Hardison in the cast, who were previously announced.
The actor, who has also played nuanced roles in “Shantaram” and “The Gentlemen,” is playing a crime-focused role in the series. His varied acting career includes appearances in films such as Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, True History of the Kelly Gang, and Pacific Rim.
Jordan Harper and Ed Brubaker, the original creator of the graphic novel, co-showrun and executive produce “Criminal.” Executive producers Sarah Carbiener, Phillip Barnett, and Sean Phillips are also involved. The first four episodes will be directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. Legendary Television executive produces alongside Amazon MGM Studios, which is in charge of producing the series.
