'Parizaad' sequel aspirations are expressed by Ahmed Ali Akbar

Actor Ahmed Ali Akbar recently shared his thoughts regarding what happened to him when the drama series Parizaad became a huge hit. The actor, who played the lead in the highly anticipated drama, revealed details about the tremendous influence the role had on him and alluded to the potential for a sequel.

In an open assessment, Akbar said that Parizaad had struck a deep chord with him and that he felt compelled to take a break in order to distance himself from the persona. “Parizaad was ingrained in me, intricately intertwined throughout my identity. Before I could speak with others, I wanted to let go of some of Parizaad,” he said.

Recognizing that his year-long commitment to the project was absorbing, he emphasized the value of taking time off to refuel creatively. Over the course of the year-long filming, you grew to become both the character and yourself. I thus decided to take some time since I truly needed it, he said.

Speaking about the rumors of a possible Parizaad 2 sequel, Akbar revealed that he first learned about the idea via writer Hashim Nadeem’s Instagram post. He acknowledged the difficulties of revisiting a character as complicated as Parizaad, but he was curious to learn more about his character’s story.

“I recall Hashim Nadeem posting a narrative. I learned about it from that Instagram post as well. Returning to it will be difficult, he said. “I won’t know if I want to dive back into it until I’ve read it and felt it.” And secretly, I’m wondering about what Parizaad’s life might be like and have a strong desire to return.

Through his Instagram account in 2022, Hashim—the renowned author of the drama series and the original novel—alluded to the potential of a second season, causing followers to speculate.

Akbar’s ascent to prominence started with noteworthy roles in well-known dramas like Yeh Raha Dil and Guzarish. But it was his performance as Parizaad in the drama series of the same name that catapulted him to unprecedented levels of praise. Despite his popularity, Akbar has remained picky about the roles he takes on. He has played complex characters in dramas like Idiot and the feature film Gunjal.

Before giving a project the go-ahead, the actor revealed that “the story, the soul of the film,” is what he looks for in a project. “Gunjal possessed everything, no doubt. We are storytellers at the end of the day, and that’s how I view it. Examine the entire scene and the entire screenplay. I have no problem taking a chance if it feels right.”
