FIA Arrests 6 Men Involved in Human Trafficking and Visa Fraud
LAHORE – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested six men during raids in Lahore and Sheikhupura for being part of a human trafficking and visa fraud network.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the suspects were arrested in a joint operation. They include Sibtain Abbas, Bilal Ahmad, Waseem Azam, Muhammad Riaz, and Muhammad Aamir Farooq.
Tricked People with Fake Work Visas
One of the suspects, Sibtain Abbas, took Rs 1.7 million from a man by promising a job in Italy. He tried to smuggle the victim from Libya to Italy on a boat. Sadly, the boat sank in Greek waters, and the victim is still missing.
Another man, Bilal Ahmad, reportedly took Rs 630,000 from someone, saying he would arrange a Qatar work visa. Officials also found 13 Pakistani passports with him, suggesting a bigger illegal network.
Fake Visa Company Exposed
The other three suspects – Waseem Azam, Muhammad Riaz, and Aamir Farooq – ran a fake visa consultancy firm called Gulf Medical Consultants. They were using fake documents and false promises to cheat people looking for jobs abroad.
FIA’s Crackdown Continues
These arrests are part of the FIA’s nationwide action against illegal immigration and human trafficking. The agency said it has zero tolerance for people who cheat citizens trying to work overseas.
FIA also said it will continue to catch those behind the Greek boat tragedy and break up other illegal immigration groups. Investigations are still going on, and more arrests may happen soon.
Earlier in Karachi: Child Trafficking Case
In a separate case, the FIA also arrested the chairperson of an NGO in Karachi for being involved in child trafficking. The suspect was allegedly sending children to the US under the false claim of adoption.
