“The FIA composite circle Faisalabad conducted a raid in Chak 216 and arrested the leader of the organized begging gang,” the spokesperson said.
“The arrested man has been identified as Mohammad Ghafoor,” the FIA spokesman said.
“The gang was trapping women, promising them free Umrah pilgrimage and later force them for begging,” FIA stated.
The accused, along with accomplices, smuggled five women to Saudi Arabia. “They were demanding Rs. five lac as ransom money from each woman for sending them back to home,” the FIA spokesman said.
FIA seized a mobile phone and other evidence from the accused during the raid.
The agency conducted raids for the arrest of other accomplices of the accused.
