Flood Alert Chenab Indus and Jhelum Rivers at Risk

Flood Warning Issued for Chenab and Indus Rivers

The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) has warned that the Chenab River could face medium to high flood levels at Marala Barrage in the next 24 hours. Medium floods are also expected at Khanki and Qadirabad headworks.

The Indus River is likely to be in medium flood at Guddu and Sukkur barrages. A low-level flood is expected at Tarbela Dam, Kalabagh, Chashma, and Taunsa headworks.

The Jhelum River is currently in a low flood at Mangla, but experts say the water level may rise to a medium flood soon.

Flooding is also expected in the drains connected to the Kabul River over the next 36 hours.

According to FFD, a new monsoon weather system may arrive by August 5, which could increase water levels in the Indus and other major rivers.

Residents living near rivers are advised to stay alert and follow official safety updates.
