For $6,000, a Holland restaurant prepares the “world’s most expensive burger”

While most restaurants around the world battled to stay open owing to the COVID-19 epidemic and the accompanying lockdowns, a food outlet in the Netherlands devised a unique marketing strategy and created ‘The Golden Boy’ – the ‘world’s most expensive burger.’

The burger had priced at $6,000 (or €5,000), according to News. The restaurant ‘de Daltons’ is hoping that the burger will set a global record.

Per the piece, the owner of the restaurant, Robbert Jan de Veen, says it was his “childhood dream to create a world record.”

“Breaking a world record has been a childhood dream of mine, and it feels amazing,” the report quoted de Veen as saying.

The burger that now holds the title of most expensive burger in the world costs $5,000 (€4,200). Juicys Outlaw Grill in Oregon, United States, built it, and it weighs 352.44kg. According to Guinness World Records, the burger has held the title since 2011.

What makes ‘The Golden Boy’ the “world’s most expensive burger”?

According to News, the burger’s bread had covered in gold leaf, and it also had topped with white truffle, king crab, beluga caviar, duck egg mayonnaise, and Dom Pérignon champagne.

“I thought, I can do better than that,” says Robbert Jan, “Even though this burger is the ‘world’s most expensive burger and extremely costly. You should still use your hands because that’s the only way to eat a burger.”
