Police said that four young girls — Bushra (3), Humaira (4), Amna (7), and Ghulam Fatima (7) — drowned while bathing in a pond in the village of Sahib Khan Malano.
Bushra and Humaira were in deep water and started drowning. When Amna and Ghulam Fatima tried to save them, they also drowned, according to the police.
When the bodies of the girls were brought home, the whole village was filled with grief and sadness.

The families did not allow a postmortem of the bodies, police added.
In a separate incident, a young man from Karachi drowned in the Maya Dam in Nangarparkar while visiting the Karoonjhar hills, officials said on Monday.
