‘Hidden treasure’ Black Sails on Netflix is getting a lot of attention from admirers who say it’s better than the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones.
From 2011 to 2019, streaming The most popular series on the streaming service, Game of Thrones, centers on a gory power struggle among the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
Black Sails, a prequel to Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, tells the tale of Captain Flint (Toby Stephens), who is regarded as the most intelligent of all the pirates of the Golden Age in the West Indies.
With just four seasons, the show only covered half of the lengthy run of Game of Thrones, airing from 2013 to 2017.
Fans celebrated the show on X, now known as Twitter, with a variety of tweets compiled by LADbible.
A viewer wrote on Twitter: “Black Sails is finally on Netflix and if you haven’t seen it it’s better than Game of Thrones, it’s a proper 10/10 show.”
“I will always advocate for Black Sails. “It’s similar to Game of Thrones, but with pirates,” another person added.
Netflix UK will begin streaming Black Sails in January.
While GotT ran for eight seasons, Black Sails only lasted for four.
In spite of this, viewers of the show claim that at times, it’s just entertaining enough.

The STARZ series revolves around the legend of Captain Flint, who is regarded as the most skilled and dangerous pirate of the Golden Age, having gained notoriety throughout the West Indies.
Officially, the synopsis says
In 1715, Flint teams up with Eleanor Guthrie, the daughter of the local kingpin, to hunt the ultimate prize and protect his people from threats posed by British and Spanish forces. Flint fights for the survival of New Providence Island, a debauched paradise teeming with pirates, prostitutes, thieves, and fortune seekers.
However, rival captains, Eleanor’s controlling father, and—possibly—the largest barrier of all—John Silver, a youthful, talkative, and arrogant sailor who was just recently hired to Flint’s crew—are in the way.
Starring in the series were actors such Toby Stephens, Hannah New, Luke Arnold, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Tom Hopper. It ran from 2013 until 2017.
