Gandapur Denies Complaints, Reaffirms Loyalty to PTI Founder

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has clarified that recent cabinet changes were part of routine adjustments and not a sign of internal conflict.

Speaking to reporters, Gandapur stated that during his last meeting with the PTI founder, it was agreed that the provincial cabinet would undergo a reshuffle. He noted that Asad Qaiser and Shahram Tarakai had been briefed about the changes, while Aqib Khan and Faisal Tarakai were informed that their portfolios would be altered. “Such adjustments are normal in governance,” he stated.

Responding to Aleema Khan’s recent remarks, Gandapur stressed that he remained fully loyal to the PTI founder. “He is my leader, and it is my duty to keep him informed. Complaints are for weak people; I only apprised him of facts,” he said. He added that since meetings with the PTI founder had been infrequent, he felt obliged to update him on party matters.

Gandapur revealed that earlier, party communication with the PTI founder was largely routed through his sisters. “The party has now reached a stage of deep divisions, and I briefed him about it,” he said.

On the budget controversy, the chief minister explained that failing to present the budget would have technically dissolved the government. “We were compelled to pass it as the founder’s instructions did not arrive on time. For this, we were unfairly branded as traitors,” he remarked. Gandapur added that Barrister Saif later conveyed to Imran Khan that presenting the budget was unavoidable.

The KP chief minister alleged that a campaign was launched to promote a “minus PTI founder” narrative. “No one can miss the PTI founder,” he declared. Gandapur said he had also informed Imran Khan that Aleema Khan was allegedly involved in these divisions, claiming that vloggers and journalists were being used to promote her as a potential party chairperson.

He further said that journalist Hafeezullah Niazi had been writing articles promoting Aleema Khan for the role of prime minister and PTI chairperson. “Different groups are fueling these campaigns, weakening the party,” Gandapur claimed.

The chief minister also raised concerns about Aleema Khan’s son securing bail in the May 9 case for just Rs300. “I told the PTI founder that these actions are weakening his cause, whether deliberately or unintentionally,” he said.

Reaffirming his loyalty, Gandapur concluded, “It is my duty to keep the PTI founder informed of the reality. I have not complained—he is my leader, and no one dares to minus him.”
