Third gang-rape of a woman in moving bus

The incident comes as a chilling reminder of the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape case. In this incident a 23-year-old female medical student was severely assaulted and gang-raped by five men and a juvenile inside a moving bus in South Delhi.

A woman passenger was allegedly gang-raped inside a running bus for the entire night on Friday. After raping the woman was thrown out of the bus. She was found lying unconscious on Delhi Road in Meerut on Saturday. Then she was shifted to the hospital where she later related the traumatic experience.

In a third such incident reported in Uttar Pradesh, India, in a month. A woman was gang-raped on a bus to Delhi the entire Friday night and later thrown out of the bus. According to sources.

The survivor was found lying unconscious on a roadside in Meerut. She was transferred to a local hospital where she later narrated her horrifying ordeal. The victim is a native of Sardhana town of Meerut district.

According to reports, the woman boarded the bus from the Bhaisali bus stand on Friday night to go to Delhi. The bus staff offered her a spiked drink that made her lose consciousness.

The bus driver and the conductor raped the woman multiples times before throwing her off of the moving bus on a deserted road.

Police confirmed the incident and recorded the survivor’s statement before the medical examination. Efforts were underway to nab the suspects, said a statement issued by SSP Meerut. He said that they were also taking the help of the CCTV footage to collect evidence and also to help them in identifying the culprits.

Incidents of rape have, unfortunately, been a common occurrence in both India and Pakistan. It is widely believed that not as many rapes are reported as many are committed in both countries.

Lahore motorway rape

Earlier this month, the rape of a woman in front of her children on the Lahore motorway created much furor. While one of the two suspects accused of the crime was arrested within a week, the other accused – also considered the prime suspect – still remains at large but the police assured that he will be arrested soon.
