Nawaz will make a "victory speech," according to PML-N, which is "in contact with independents"

The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, would make a “victory speech” following the announcement of the general election results in 2024, according to his party, which stated it is in communication with the independent candidates, the majority of whom are backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“As opposed to the false perception deliberately built by a section of media last night, PML-N, Alhamdulillah emerging as the single largest party in the centre and Punjab,” PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz tweeted on X, formerly Twitter.

A few outcomes are expected. As soon as the results are in, MNS will go to PML-N HQ for the victory address. With Allah be it. Pay attention,” she added.

However, Ishaq Dar, the head of the PML-N, stated that the independent candidates who are winning the general elections in 2024 are in communication with the party.

In an interview  on Friday, the former finance minister stated, “The independents have contacted us and they will join any party in the next 72 hours as per the Constitution,” as the election results kept rolling in.

Although candidates who are willing to join the PML-N are contacting them, Dar stated that the party cannot force anyone to join.

The former finance minister went on, saying that independents would forfeit their allotted seats if they joined no political party. In Punjab, the independents are not nearly as successful as the PML-N.”

According to Dar, the party led by Shehbaz Sharif has won most of the seats in the National Assembly as well as the majority in Punjab.

“The PML-N had the advantage with more seats, based on the results that were declared till three in the morning. Furthermore, the PML-N was in the lead even when the results were sluggish,” he asserted.

According to Dar, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has stated that he would collaborate with other parties even if his party had a majority.

“We are hopeful to form government in the centre and Punjab and if someone else forms a government, then we will accept it as well,” he stated.

In addition, he congratulated the election winners of the seats.
