Ghotki DC Urges Residents to Evacuate Ahead of Indus Floods
Ghotki – Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmed Kunrani has urged residents of the katcha areas along the Indus River to move to safer locations as a major flow of floodwater is expected to pass through the Guddu and Sukkur barrages.
The district administration has advised people to relocate either to relief camps or safer zones, along with their essential belongings and livestock.
“All essential facilities are available at the relief camps,” DC Kunrani said, adding that tents, mosquito nets, and other necessities are being provided to those affected.
Personnel from the Pakistan Navy, Rescue 1122, and district revenue staff are stationed at protective dykes to assist residents. Boats are also being provided to help evacuate those in vulnerable areas.
“The safety of our residents is our top priority,” the DC emphasized, urging everyone in the katcha areas to follow the instructions and move without delay.
