GTA Online to Introduce Age Verification Feature Says Leaker

GTA Online May Soon Ask Players to Verify Their Age

July 31, 2025 – Rockstar Games may soon introduce an age verification feature for players of GTA Online, according to a well-known leaker named Tez2.

The leaker shared on social media that players might need to confirm their age to keep playing GTA Online or use some features in the game, like text chat, phone messages, or Snapmatic (the game’s camera app).

“You may need to verify your age to access GTA Online,” Tez2 posted, adding that some features could be restricted without age confirmation.

UK Might Be First to Get the New Rule

Reports say the United Kingdom could be the first country where Rockstar rolls out the new age check. This follows the UK government’s Online Safety Act, which now requires websites and games to block children from adult content using age verification systems.

A screenshot also went viral online, showing a message that said:

“You are unable to access GTA Online. Please verify your age with an official ID or photo to continue.”

No Official Word from Rockstar Yet

Right now, Rockstar Games has not confirmed or denied whether this new system is real. But many fans are worried that Grand Theft Auto VI might also include this feature when it comes out.

Rockstar has said GTA VI will now be released in May 2026, after being delayed from its original Fall 2025 release date.
