Govt Extends Hajj 2026 Applications Until Quota Filled
ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that designated banks will continue to receive Hajj 2026 applications until the remaining quota is filled.
Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt urged intending pilgrims to apply as soon as possible, cautioning that “the process will close immediately once the last 3,500 seats are taken.”
Officials noted that the record number of applications reflects the strong enthusiasm of Pakistani citizens to perform Hajj under the government scheme next year.
The 2026 Hajj program offers two packages: a long stay of 38–42 days and a short stay of 20–25 days. Costs range from Rs 1.15 million to Rs 1.25 million. Applicants are required to pay an initial deposit of Rs500,000 or Rs550,000—depending on the package—while the remaining amount will be collected from November 1.
The ministry clarified that overseas Pakistanis with valid Pakistani passports are also eligible to apply.
Under the new policy, 70 percent of the total quota has been reserved for the government scheme, while 30 percent will be allocated to private operators. Pakistan’s overall Hajj quota is 179,210 pilgrims, including 119,210 under the government scheme and 60,000 through private operators, subject to Saudi approval.
