Hassan, Shaheen & Nauman Ali achieve career best Test-Ranking

Pakistan bowlers Hasan AliShaheen Shah Afridi and Nauman Ali; have achieved their career-best rankings in the ICC men’s Test bowling rankings.

They gave a match-winning performance in the second Test against Zimbabwe. Moreover, they became the first trio from the country to take five-fours in the same match.

Hassan Ali, right arm fast bowler picked up 5 for 27 in the first innings. Shaheen Afridi left arm pacer got 5 for 52 in the second innings. Moreover left-arm spinner Nouman Ali got 5 for 86 in the second innings played essential roles against Zimbabwe in Harare; securing a win in the second test and taking a lead in the series by 2-0.

Positions Updated

Hasan has moved up six places to 14th position, Shaheen went up nine places to 22nd and Nauman has gone from 54th to 46th position.

It was the first time three players registered five-wicket hauls for Pakistan in a Test and also just the sixth instance of three players from the same team picking up five-fours in a Test.

It was first such instance in 28 years, the last one being when Australia’s Paul Reiffel, Shane Warne and Tim May achieved the feat against England at Edgbaston in 1993.

Meanwhile Abid Ali opener who was titled as player of the match scored 215 not out; helping him ascend to to 38th position from 40th; also Azhar Ali vaulted to 16th position after his 126.
