Kevin Turen, the star of Euphoria and The Idol, passed away unexpectedly on November 12 while operating a vehicle on a California roadway, as revealed by TMZ earlier this month.
It has now been made public that he passed away from heart failure while operating a Tesla.
When he experienced a medical issue while driving, his 10-year-old son had to navigate the car—which was on autopilot—to the side of the freeway before calling 911.
TMZ has recently revealed that various heart problems were the cause of Kevin’s untimely death while driving.
According to reports, the medical examiner declared acute cardiac dysfunction and hypertrophic heart disease as the official causes of death, adding coronary artery disease as an additional consideration.
Evelina, his spouse of eleven years, and their two boys, Jack and James, survive Kevin.
In a statement provided to Deadline, Kevin’s father Edward confirmed his son’s passing and said, “This world is going to be less without him.”
Along with writing Euphoria, he co-wrote Operation Endgame with Sam Levinson, with whom he previously collaborated on Assassination Nation and Malcolm & Marie. He produced multiple feature films.
This is the second tragedy to strike the Euphoria crew; in July, actor Angus Cloud, 25, also died from a “accidental drug overdose.”
