Severe summer heat can be uncomfortable, but in certain situations, it can even be lethal. When the mercury climbs to dangerous levels and threatens the body’s natural ability to regulate its temperature, it is imperative to take the appropriate measures to keep the body cool.
When the body cannot naturally cool itself and overheats to fatal degrees, heat stroke ensues. The body’s “internal thermostat” can become out of control and pose a major threat to vital organs like the kidney, heart, or brain.

Warning signs are important to pay strict attention to. Feelings that indicate your body is overheating beyond what it can control, such as nausea, vertigo, rapid heartbeat, disorientation, and hot, dry skin.
Wear light clothing, stay hydrated, and apply sunscreen to avoid heat stroke. Try to go outside early in the morning or late at night rather than between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
