Zendaya describes her parents' "amazing" response to the sultry "Challengers" scene

Zendaya parents in particular have been her staunchest supporters over the course of her extensive and varied Hollywood career. But sometimes, especially when they’re viewing her on the big screen, things get a bit awkward.

The 27-year-old actress, Zendaya, recently had her family join her for the premiere of her new film, The Challengers, which has an iconic sultry moment.

While it was a little awkward, Zendaya laughed it off, she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

It was quite funny. Yes, I found that to be quite funny,” she remarked.

Zendaya then said, alluding to her portrayal as teenage drug user Ruby “Rue” Bennett in Euphoria, that her family has definitely seen worse.

It was funny because, you know, obviously I’ve seen the movie many times so I know what’s coming, and they were all sitting behind me. I got to, like, watch them watch and slowly just be like, ‘Oh God,'” she remarked, laughing. “They’ve all seen Euphoria, you know, so it’s not our first rodeo or anything.”

“It’s still enough to not want to watch with your aunt,” Zendaya said, despite the fact that the moment just involved making out.

Zendaya plays Tashi Duncan in The Challengers, a movie about an ambitious tennis player who had to give up on her goals after sustaining a serious injury and start tutoring instead.
