According to reports, Kim Kardashian has not apologized to Taylor Swift for the controversy surrounding the phone call with Kanye West that was released.
Taylor Swift, 33, who was named TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year, has been at odds with the couple ever since Kanye, Kim’s ex-husband, recorded a song in 2016 that contained explicit lyrics about Taylor.
After Taylor objected to Kanye’s claim that she had given her OK for the reference, Kim stepped in and released what Taylor had described as “an illegally recorded phone call” between them, arguing that the evidence indicated otherwise.
TMZ reports that Kim is adamantly refusing to apologize to the singer, but Taylor is willing to accept an apology from her in public.
Taylor attacked Kim in the interview that accompanied her TIME award, accusing her of “taking her down psychologically” and driving her into hiding throughout their protracted conflict, all the while calling the reality star and her ex-husband “trash.”
Make no mistake: Taylor claimed that the negative publicity felt like “a career death” and added, “My career was taken away from me.”
“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” Taylor stated, discussing the fallout and the terrible toll that it took on her wellbeing.
That knocked me down to a level of psychological collapse I’ve never experienced. I relocated to another nation. It took me a year to move out of a rental home. I was terrified to answer the phone.
When Taylor, then 19 years old, accepted the Best Female Video trophy for You Belong with Me at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, it seemed as though an unexpected conflict between her and Kim and Kanye had begun.
Unexpectedly, during her victory speech, Kanye leaped onto the stage, snatched the microphone from her grasp, and said, “Hey, Taylor, I’m so proud of you and Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had the greatest video ever.” Among the greatest vids ever made!
