Meet the 10-year-old fashion influencer

Taylen Biggs, who is only ten years old, has nearly 1.5 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, a closet stuffed with designer clothing, and 15 fashion weeks under her belt.

Taylen came at last week’s Balmain show, one of the most anticipated events of Paris Fashion Week, wearing a chic ensemble of the French brand’s white jacket and skirt, black boots, a bag designed by Karl Lagerfeld, and her go-to Vintage Frames sunglasses. Her cameraman followed her, as usual. Her father, who is also her bodyguard, maintained a respectful distance from her as well.

Before picking up her microphone, she told AFP, “I love fashion and I love meeting new people and interviewing them and seeing what they have to say.” Taylen, a Miami resident, has spoken with a great number of models, designers, and other fashionistas in addition to celebrities like DJ Khaled, pop artist Kali Uchis, and American football player Patrick Mahomes.

She has graced red carpets for a variety of events, including the Super Bowl and the MTV Music Awards. She also frequently attends the New York and Miami fashion weeks and has been spotted in Milan and Paris over the past two weeks. “I really miss my family a lot,” she admitted. And I miss Miami. But I don’t miss the food from Miami. I’m in love with the food here.”

With a direct conduit to the public and a willingness to exchange gifts for coverage, influencers are now the preferred form of media in the fashion industry, and age is no longer a barrier.

Josh Biggs, Taylen’s father, claims that in order to work full-time as his daughter’s assistant, he has mostly quit his profession as a building contractor in Miami. He told AFP, “I travel with her wherever she goes; I am her shadow. In response to the question of whether his daughter has turned into a business, he states, “People see her through the camera lens… but in real life she’s a child first and foremost.”

Taylen’s fashion-loving mother, a Colombian who immigrated to the United States when she was 13, uploaded images of her on social media that were seen by an advertising firm, leading to Taylen’s first modeling job when she was 18 months old.

She currently manages Taylen’s homeschooling along with the social media accounts for her sister and brother. Her father commented, “School is our top priority, and we take it very seriously.” To allow Taylen to take a lengthy vacation during the consecutive fashion weeks in Milan and Paris in September, they worked throughout the summer.

Taylen’s father, who claims to be uninterested in fashion, says his daughter is under no obligation to continue if she becomes bored. It’s up to her if she wants to make a shift and seek a different job, he said. “In a second, we’ll leave the realm of fashion. There are no reservations.

But Taylen appears to take pride in her work. I get along well with everyone, she said. “I’m great with children. I am in love with kids! And I genuinely adore adults; I never even feel irritated with them.
