The Princess of Wales will organize a Christmas concert for UK royals

The Princess of Wales, Kate, will host the gathering of Britain’s royal family at Westminster Abbey in London on Friday for what has become into an annual Christmas carol concert. The heir apparent to the throne, Prince William, will accompany Kate and deliver a reading at the service in the Abbey where Queen Elizabeth’s burial was held the previous year and King Charles was crowned in May.

The event will feature musical performances by singer-songwriter Freya Ridings and a duet between American singer Adam Lambert and soul artist Beverley Knight. Attendees will include representatives from charities affiliated with the royal family.

Kate will provide an introduction to the service, which will be a part of the “Royal Carols: Together At Christmas” program that will air on British television on Christmas Eve. “Join me this Christmas Eve for a special carol service, as we say a heartfelt thank you to all those supporting the very youngest members of our society during those crucial early years,” she says in a commercial.

Several royals who attended the carol concert last year wore matching burgundy coats, which the British media interpreted as a show of unity following criticism of the family from William’s younger brother Prince Harry and his American wife Meghan in their Netflix documentary that aired in December of last year.

Following the resurgence of a royal race dispute that was caused by Harry and Meghan’s appearance with American TV personality Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Kate and William were photographed earlier this week with King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla. Royal observers described this photo as a gesture of unity.

The two royals who had “conversations” about how dark Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s complexion would be before he was born were identified as Charles and Kate in the Dutch translation of a book written by the well-known journalist Omid Scobie, who is thought to be favorable to the marriage.

The names were inserted in error, according to the book’s publisher, and Scobie has denied creating a version of the book with the names on it. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as Buckingham Palace, have not responded
