Decomposed Body of Actress Humaira Asghar Found in Karachi Apartment After Months
Preliminary post-mortem findings reveal that actress and reality TV participant Humaira Asghar may have died eight to ten months ago, according to a report by Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed.
The severely decomposed body of the former Tamasha Ghar contestant was discovered earlier this week when police entered her apartment around 3:15 PM to carry out a court-ordered eviction. Officers forced entry after receiving no response and found Asghar’s remains lying on the floor. She had reportedly been living alone in the residence for the past seven years.
The post-mortem examination paints a grim picture. The report states:
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition
Facial muscles had completely deteriorated
Fingers and nails were reduced to skeletal form
Major muscle tissues were absent across the body
Bones crumbled on contact in certain areas
Brain matter had completely liquefied
Internal organs had turned into a black, shapeless mass
Joint cartilage was missing
However, no skeletal fractures were observed
The head and spine remained intact, although the spinal cord was absent
Brown insects were found in the hair, but no maggots were detected
The degree of decomposition has rendered the exact cause of death undetermined for now. Authorities have collected samples of hair, clothing, and blood for chemical analysis and DNA profiling, with toxicology results still pending.
According to initial inquiries, Humaira Asghar had not been seen or contacted by anyone since October 2024. Neighbors described her as extremely private, with minimal interaction. One resident said that she had been involved in rent disputes with the landlord before her death.
Following the recovery of the body, her remains were taken to a welfare morgue. Her family collected the body on Thursday and transported it to Lahore. Sources suggest the family initially hesitated to claim the body due to its deteriorated state.
Humaira Asghar gained public attention through her appearance on the reality show Tamasha Ghar and had a minor role in the Pakistani film Jalaibee. Her tragic death mirrors that of veteran actress Ayesha Khan, whose decomposed body was also discovered alone in her apartment last month in Karachi.
The case has once again raised concerns about the welfare and mental health of isolated individuals, particularly within the entertainment industry, and sparked renewed calls for community vigilance and support networks.
