Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tea Party, praised President Arif Alvi’s decision on Tuesday to call off the National Assembly session. He claimed that even though the PTI won the elections, it is not receiving its fair number of reserved seats.
The former prime minister declared, “There is no greater theft than stealing the public’s mandate; they are the same people who opposed the FATF legislation and demanded the closure of their cases,” during a media conference held at Adiala jail.
Imran said he had dictated the letter to the international financial organization because he was unable to type anything and send it from jail when questioned about it.
“The letter will be sent after today’s meeting,” Imran stated.
He clarified that the letter’s objective is to notify the IMF that the nation cannot attain political stability and economic stability simultaneously.
“Everyone in the country believes that the elections were rigged, and the prime minister will be from a party that only won 20 seats. On February 8, the entire country united against the mafia. The chief electoral commissioner ought to step down since he did not give PTI fair and equal treatment. We have no faith in the system since even the caretaker administration is biased against my party and the ECP is still busily manipulating the results, Imran stated.
“The president did right by not calling the session, PTI has won but specific seats are not being allotted to the party,” Imran stated, supporting President Alvi’s rejection of the summary to call the NA session.
The PTI founder claimed that “every effort was made to dismantle PTI, and May 9 was used as a tactic against my party.” He also maintained that tyranny had not destroyed PTI but rather elevated it to the status of Pakistan’s most popular party.
In response to a query about his previous claims that JUI leader Fazlur Rehman was a “diesel” and that Mehmood Khan Achakzai was a “traitor,” the former prime minister proclaimed, “We are against PML-N, PPP and MQM who were forcefully declared winners through rigging.”
Imran continued, saying that the PTI would be protesting election cheating nationwide together with all other parties that were impacted by poll fraud.
