During the hearing of the case, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi appeared before Accountability Court judge Muhammad Ali Warraich in Adiala Jail.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused for 14 more days. Imran and Bushra’s counsel Barrister Salman Safdar opposed the physical remand.
Talking to the judge, Bushra Bibi said, “I have left my matter to Allah. NAB is filing false cases against us one after another. We are experiencing injustice.”
The PTI founder said his wife has nothing to do with Toshakhana, asking, why is she being punished. “I was the prime minister. My wife did not hold any public office. NAB officials are ‘conscience sellers’. They can say anything after getting money.”
Reacting to Imran’s remarks, the NAB prosecutor general asked the PTI founder not to make it personal and advised him to focus solely on the case. He asked Imran Khan if a complete dinner set can be bought at Rs30,000 from Raja Bazaar.
After the exchange of hot words, the court took a break. When the hearing resumed, the PTI founder tendered an apology to the NAB prosecutor that was accepted by him.
Later, the court extended the physical remand of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for 10 days and adjourned the hearing till August 8.
After the hearing, PTI founder’s sister Aleema Khan said it is illegal to reopen a case that has already been decided. She held Shehbaz Sharif’s government for the illegal act. She claimed that the court sent Imran and Bushra on a 10-day physical remand and during that period they will be convicted in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
