India Beat Oman, Set for Super Four Clash with Pakistan

DUBAI — India maintained their unbeaten run in Group A with a 21-run win over Oman on Friday, booking another high-voltage encounter with Pakistan in the Super Four stage this Sunday.

During the post-match presentation, when commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked Suryakumar Yadav about facing Pakistan again, the Indian batter kept it brief and calm. “All set for Super 4,” he replied, making it clear the team is focused on the tournament, not just the opposition.

The last India-Pakistan meeting ended in controversy after both captains skipped the customary handshake, while Suryakumar and Shivam Dube headed straight to the dressing room. The Pakistan Cricket Board later lodged a complaint with the ICC against match referee Andy Pycroft, accusing him of failing to uphold the spirit of the game.

On the field, Oman put up a spirited fight while chasing India’s 188. Their openers added 56 runs before Jatinder Singh departed for 32. Aamir Kaleem (64 off 46) and Hammad Mirza (51 off 33) combined for a 93-run stand that briefly tilted the game their way. But quick wickets in the final overs halted their charge, leaving them at 167-4 after 20 overs.

For India, bowlers Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya took a wicket apiece to seal the win and set up a blockbuster Super Four showdown with Pakistan.
