Indus River Water Levels Shift Across Barrages

KASHMORE – The water flow in the Indus River continues to fluctuate, with varying levels being recorded at different barrages, according to the control room.

At Guddu Barrage, inflow was recorded at 624,094 cusecs on Monday, showing a reduction of 14,000 cusecs. The outflow stood at 594,936 cusecs, indicating that the river level at this point is receding.

In contrast, the situation at Sukkur Barrage remains critical, as the river there is experiencing a high flood. The inflow reached 571,800 cusecs, while the outflow was recorded at 518,120 cusecs.

Further downstream at Kotri Barrage, the river is in a low flood situation. However, levels are rising, with an inflow of 293,017 cusecs against an outflow of 282,412 cusecs.

Meanwhile, at Punjnad, water levels are gradually decreasing, with inflow recorded at 234,000 cusecs, according to the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The Sindh Irrigation Department has assured that all protective dykes along the river remain intact and safe.
