The NFL was rocked by former Los Angeles Rams player Aaron Donald’s announcement last week that he was retiring from the game after ten unforgettable seasons, according to The US Sun.
Following Donald’s retirement, admirers showered him with congratulations and responses, describing him as “arguably the best one to ever do it” and expressing shock at his decision.
Donald just published a teaser video for his impending retirement interview on X, previously Twitter. The interview is set to run next week.
The athlete shattered the hearts of fans in the video by admitting that he is “burned out,” which is why he chose to quit his NFL career, as he reminisced on his incredible journey.
Donald wrote, “10 Pro Bowls in ten years.” Eight All-Pro selections, two NFC titles, three NFC West titles, three Defensive Player of the Year honors, and Defensive Rookie of the Year accolades. I participated in and won two Super Bowls.”
“I’m finished. I’m done. I believe that my enthusiasm for the game has faded. Donald continued. “I will always be a football fan, but I don’t feel the need to push myself to play the sport after thinking about going through another camp and another 17-game season. I’m exhausted.”
Donald, 32, did, however, emphasize that he was happy with the achievements he had made over the previous ten years, indicating that it was time to move on to the next stage of his life and career.
