Amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, US President Joe Biden made light of a momentous occasion on Friday by joking that he wished former President Donald Trump had given himself a little bleach injection.
At a reelection campaign fundraiser south of San Francisco, Biden stated that voters should remember that his opponent’s Republican presidency was chaotic. Ahead of the election in November, Biden and Trump are engaged in a fierce competition.
Do you recall him mentioning that the best course of action was to simply inject some bleach into your arm? That was his statement. And he meant it. “I wish he had taken on some of the work himself,” Biden remarked.
In the early months of the 2020 pandemic, Trump said that a disinfectant such as bleach or isopropyl alcohol could be “injected inside” the body to help fend off the virus.
Along with mocking Trump’s alleged “love letters” from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Biden mispronounced Kim’s title as South Korea’s president.
Following their meeting, Trump and Kim exchanged several letters, copies of which Trump maintained in an Oval Office loose-leaf binder.
A request for response to Biden’s statements was not immediately answered by a Trump campaign official.
Biden previously mocked Trump’s remark about bleach, claiming in Washington on April 24 that Trump had injected himself and that “it all went to his hair.”
