After taking home the People’s Choice Award for Male Artist of the Year in 2024, BTS member Jungkook added yet another feather to his cap.
The Dynamite singer achieved a significant career milestone on Sunday at the glamorous award ceremony in Santa Monica, when he became the first Asian musician to receive the honor.
In November 2023, Jungkook made his breakthrough solo debut with his first studio album, Golden. He outperformed Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake, who were among the top four artists on Spotify previous year, to win the coveted accolade.
His agency posted a touching acceptance message on BTS’s official X, or former Twitter, account on social media.
“You made this possible,” the Butter crooner stated, giving his Army—his growing fan base—credit for helping him win.
In the Pop Artist of the Year, Make Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Collaboration Song of the Year for Seven starring Latto categories, Jungkook received four nominations overall at the People’s Choice Awards.
His noteworthy victory occurred with the release of his all-English album, which featured collaborations with several international musicians, including Latto, Jack Harlow, and Usher. The singer is 26 years old from South Korea.
