The first relief ship to arrive on Gaza's coast was fully unloaded

According to local reports, the first relief ship that had docked on the embattled Gaza Strip coasts a day earlier was fully unloaded on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that “small boats began unloading the ship’s cargo on Friday and transporting it towards the shore of Gaza City.”

They said, “Unloading operations were completed on Saturday morning.”

200 tons of food provided by the US organization World Central Kitchen were hauled by the Open Arms.

The ship landed in Gaza on Friday after leaving the Greek Cypriot administration’s port of Larnaca.

Operation Safeena is a humanitarian operation that the UK, US, and EU are supporting. Its goal is to open a maritime supply corridor that the Greek Cypriot administration has suggested.

Following Hamas’ cross-border assault on October 7, 2023, Israel began its war on Gaza. Since then, in addition to wreaking widespread devastation and displacement, it has killed up to 31,500 Palestinians and brought the region dangerously close to starvation.

The International Court of Justice, which has charged Israel with genocide, issued an interim verdict in January directing Tel Aviv to cease genocidal crimes and take steps to ensure that residents in Gaza get humanitarian aid.

In order to facilitate the widespread distribution of humanitarian goods, the US has also stated that it will be constructing a temporary port on the Gaza shoreline.
