Iran Executes Man Accused of Spying for Israel’s Mossad
Tehran – Iran has executed another individual accused of working with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, as tensions between the two longtime rivals continue to escalate.
According to Iran’s judiciary outlet Mizan, Mossad allegedly recruited the defendant to access sensitive government databases and compromise the country’s data centers. He was also accused of helping the agency track the routes used to import electronic equipment into Iran.
The Supreme Court upheld the conviction, rejecting the man’s appeal, and confirmed the death penalty on charges of “corruption on earth” — one of the country’s most serious offenses.
The execution comes at a time of heightened conflict between Iran and Israel. In June, the decades-long shadow war turned into open confrontation when Israel launched strikes inside Iran, including operations carried out by Mossad operatives on the ground.
So far this year, Iran has sharply increased executions of those it accuses of spying for Israel, with at least 10 carried out in recent months.
