Pakistan Welcomes Iran-Israel Ceasefire Amid US Airstrike Report

At a United Nations meeting, Pakistan’s Representative, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, welcomed the news of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.

He praised the people who helped make this agreement possible and said he hoped it would bring peace and stability to the region.

In another update, a report from U.S. intelligence said that recent American airstrikes did not destroy Iran’s nuclear program. The strikes only delayed it for a few months. This happened as a fragile ceasefire, announced by former President Donald Trump, began between Iran and Israel.

Earlier on Tuesday, both Iran and Israel showed signs that their air attacks had stopped, for now. This came after Trump publicly criticized them for breaking the ceasefire he had announced at 5:00 a.m. GMT.

After 12 days of fighting, both countries removed restrictions on civilians. The U.S. had joined the conflict by bombing Iran’s nuclear sites. Both Iran and Israel claimed they had won.

Trump said that the U.S. had used powerful 30,000-pound bombs to destroy Iran’s nuclear program. But a U.S. intelligence report disagreed, saying the damage was less than Trump claimed, according to three people who know about the report.
