Javed Akhtar an indian and a famous poet became the latest one to come out in support of the film industry amid the ongoing Bollywood drug row. According to him, people in the industry today are extremely professional and responsible. Talking to a news portal, Javed Akhtar reportedly said that he has personally never done drugs in his life. However, the lyricist admitted that he used to drink a lot when during his younger days.
Further talking about the ongoing Bollywood drug row, Akhtar stated that he doesn’t believe in those reports. He pointed out the fact that the actors of today’s generation are fitness freaks, unlike the stars of yesteryear who were not obsessed with their physical fitness. According to him, they are extremely professional and responsible people, and today, the film industry is much more disciplined and responsible than it ever was.
The ace lyricist also added that drugs entered the picture much later but a decision to humiliate the film industry was taken before. According to him, because of this, one cannot attack the entire film industry which is internationally recognized.
Javed Akhtar also took a dig at the news channels who made Karan Johar’s part video their story but did not cover the farmer’s protest. According to him, if the filmmaker had invited farmers, the media would not have had to choose between the farmer’s protest and the filmmaker’s party.
Earlier Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik’s legal team fought it out against the NCB as they presented their bail application at the Bombay High Court. The siblings were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in the drugs case, linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case investigation. While Rhea was taken into custody on September 8, Showik was arrested on September 4, and their judicial custody extended till October 6.
